Samantha Warskett, R.Ac
Registered Acupuncturist

Samantha’s athletic journey started in her childhood, beginning with equestrian sport and running, then rowing and eventually international-level cycling. Her passion for sport and exercise followed her into her adult life where she coached all levels of female cyclists from beginners-pros. From 2009-2016, she directed a Women’s Elite Cycling Team and guest directed for both pro- and national-level teams. To this day Samantha still prioritizes exercise by incorporating cycling, running and cross-country skiing in her regular routine.

Samantha’s interest in exercise and the human body motivated her to pursue higher education and eventually a career in a congruent field. She began by studying exercise physiology at the University of Ottawa. In her early career, she spent 25 years working as a post-rehab personal trainer specializing in movement disorders such as Parkinson’s, M.S, and post-stroke recovery. In 2016, Samantha expanded her expertise by becoming an Applied Movement Neurology (AMN) practitioner. AMN - with Chinese Medicine and neurology as its foundation - takes a holistic approach to treatment, using movement and hands-on therapy to treat areas of muscular dysfunction.

This holistic approach to care struck a chord in her, which led her to graduate from the International Academy of Chinese Medicine in Ottawa in 2022, where she became a Registered Acupuncturist. She embraces the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), treating not only the body but the mind and spirit as well, offering a truly integrative approach to healing.

Samantha incorporates a range of different acupuncture techniques in her practice, including needling, moxibustion (heat therapy), gua sha (massage with a tool), cupping, tui na (Chinese massage), nutrition therapy, exercise, and Qi Gong. Her scope of practice involves treating those affected by autoimmune conditions, movement disorders, post concussion syndrome, overuse injuries, breathing issues, prenatal & postpartum struggles, menstrual concerns and the physical/psychological fallout from trauma. Her techniques and personal background make her exceptionally skilled at treating  athletes, helping to improve  athletic performance. Her individualized treatments are designed to assist in taking someone from surviving to thriving.
